Whenever
Beatrix Potter was away from London, she sent illustrated letters
to the
children of her friend and last governess, Annie Moore. It is the story from one of these letters
written on 4 September 1893 to Noel Moore, that became her first
published
book called “The Tale of Peter Rabbit”. Beatrix
Potter Illustrated Letter Challenge: Can
you create an illustrated letter like Beatrix Potter?
Have a look at
how Beatrix Potter came to write her stories:
How do
I do this: Use a pencil, pen,
coloured pencils or even markers and any type of paper! Think about who
your
letter will be for? Perhaps it will be for a friend or family member,
maybe for
someone who is younger than you are? What
will go into your letter? Will it be a
story about school? a pet? Your friends or family?
What sort of drawings will you do to
illustrate your letter? Additional
