Silver Challenge
Palaeography

Challenge: Palaeography is the art of analysing and reading handwriting. Looking at old handwriting can be really interesting and may be useful in order to read older documents that may include important information about your family. Have a look at The National Archives website (link below). They have a special section dedicated to this topic. Try some of the tutorials by clicking on “Interactive tutorial”. You will then find the tutorials numbered Document 1 (easiest) to 10 (most difficult). Select one or more and have a go! Were they easy or difficult? Then try the ducking stool game!

How do I do this: You will need to have access to a computer. For The National Archives website tutorial follow the instructions given.
